This is a section of the inside wall of the grotto on the Werribee Mansion estate.  The surface is completely covered in shells collected from the nearby beaches to the South.  The only light comes from a skylight in the centre of the ceiling, the entrance (having to be blocked off due to vandalism), is now a thick perspex door which gives a grainy nature to the photo.

  1. Wow, so pretty! I can never understand why some people feel the need to destroy beautiful art like this especially when it doesn’t belong to them. You photographed it so nicely and the dimension of the shells shows.
